Monogram Burlap Embroidery Hoops

I have just finished some new projects after being down for nearly 14 weeks of first tri-mester pregnancy. Whew! We then went on vacation to Fort Walton and had a wonderful time, since the weather has not gotten too hot yet for this little prego lady.  
So, here are my newest releases and are available to buy before going to market. I can make custom orders but they are limited, since the hoops are special finds and are vintage or antique.  Sizes vary and I can use most color burlap ribbons and any letter for monogram.  I used a cotton duck fabric on the "mr. and mrs." signs and those can be done on burlap as well.

I am taking  early orders to make a custom Boxwood/Christmas winter Wreath.  There are 3 basic price points, $20, $25 & $35.  If you would like something specially customized, I will gladly make it and will give you a custom price. These will look fresh for at least 4 weeks and will dry beautifully and then can be used each season outdoors or  placed indoors for a luxury indoor design style. (Special Care is required to preserve your boxwood wreath)

Note: I am not a licensed interior designer, nor do I advertise my services as professional in any way.
Note: The boxwoods will turn brown when drying, please spritz with water to prevent early drying.  If you want to preserve, please  see note below.  You may want to spray the wreath green next year or possibly a gold or silver color to change it up.

Special Care Instructions If preserving for indoors or outdoors :  In order to maintain a longer fresh look, simply spritz with a spray bottle of water daily. Wreaths will need to be brought in in January out of the sun to dry successfully for next year.  You can purchase a special preserver to spray on after bringing indoors, or simply use hairspray to maintain the shiny look.

Before assembling your wreath, I will soak the stems in glycerin water and use some green food coloring to help preserve the maximum freshness possible.  

Note: The heat and sun will not be kind to your wreath for extended uses outdoors. If using immediately indoors ,just hang outside at night during the preservation process during the cold weather.

Pottery Barn inspired wall layout

Dining Room with Breakfast Bar. I re-purposed the chalkboard frame which was a dresser mirror before.  the Cereal dispensers were a great find at Sam's wholesale club and of course we love our Espresso Machine. My plans are to re-paint the chairs and add a round jute rug under the table.....after Livia get's out of the baby food stage...well maybe i'll wait until she's 2 or 3? 

Kitchen.....Old Burlap coffee sack above cabintets. This one was purchased at A-Z Outlet and I framed a few of the others.  I found a website that carries these for little cost  . Used Burlap Coffee Bags - 28" x 40"

I just love decorating for a boy and a girl! Just find a stripe or multi colored pattern that has both gender's colors and have fun! Fabrics are a great starting point for a room design.  The fabric for the shower curtain is Robert Allen outdoor, so moisture won't be a big deal here in the splashy kids bathroom!

A little framed artwork is fun to pull out the colors of the curtain. 

Our lovely little hang out spot.  The Birchwood planters above the fireplace is from Pottery Barn and my honey tiled the fireplace for me. This was after the second try! I guess I have a right to change my mind if it doesn't flow, right?

Memo Board

 Here is my hallway memo board This glass frame was once an espresso brown color.  I removed the glass and used the foam backing to adhere my burlap to.  This was originally a burlap coffee bag, I just reversed the image and used the plain side  for a neutral background.  I took jute twine and started crisscrossing from front to back. You may want to measure the width and length and space evenly and mark at each crossing point. My board was not exactly perfect, since I was in such a hurry in between kid naps.  I tied off the ends and just used my hot glue gun and secured the spaces and then onto the frame.  

I have some mini clothespins for hanging artwork/pics that I'll be mod podging .  And here they are...... (updated 10-21-12)

Painting The Frame

I used a sander/deglosser gel and rubbed it on with an old cloth, using gloves.

Next, I added some white linen paint with a soft sponge brush and let it nearly dry and then used a wire sponge to scratch it up a bit.

Then I used some blue acrylic paint and dry brushed it on, and finally some sand colored acrylic to add some antique effects and then again used the wire sponge to reveal the original expresso frame color. The final step is to spray on a clear top coat, which hasn't been done yet. 

Now we hang anything from special art work, to memo's and reminders, seasonal pictures and just stuff that we want to be reminded of!
